Yippee!! It's been a week of this new bed time routine for Miss5 and we are having so much success it's ridiculous.
The meeting was an absolute disaster but it has made a big difference. We have had 4 out of 6 nights dry and not many complaints at all.
I've always thought that Miss5 could be night time trained easily. For her I think it's more in her head and a control issue rather than an issue with her downstairs area.
For years now Miss5 has struggled her anxiety and part of that anxiety is her absolute need to have control over everything. To the point she will tell her younger brother what he needs to be doing (and before you all say every older sibling does that, this is past the point of normal older sibling rivalry) she also frequently tells myself and her dad what we need to be doing-such as when to change lanes while driving and when the lights are red or green and how fast we need to be driving.
For awhile now I've been thinking that the bed wetting could be more of a control issue than anything else. And her behaviour in the meeting last week cemented that fact for me.
So I really didn't have much faith in her staying dry this week. I thought we would be met with arguments at every corner. I thought there would be screaming matches and me locking myself in my bedroom to escape the drama.
It's been so easy-I'm loving it and Miss5 is super happy and proud of herself and I'm not spending $20 a fortnight on pull-ups for her!! Win-win-win situation :-) :-)
But it's meant that my fantastic Mr3 has ramped up his bed wetting. It's like the dryer his sister is the wetter he is. He wears a pullup to bed and has been ready to be dry for ages. But last summer/winter he went through this disgusting stage of pulling his willy out of his pull-up, weeing on his bed and laying in it. As though it was his comfort thing. So while we dealt with that grossly embarrassing stage we decided to leave the staying dry stage for another time. I'm thinking once Miss5 gets the hang of it I'll give the brolly sheets to Mr3 and he can follow the same routine until he is dry as well.
Over the next few months there is so much happening and a lot of MAJOR changes coming to our family, which is usually the time for kids to go backwards in bedwetting. But considering both kids chose Christmas time (our busiest time of the year) to day time toilet train themselves I have total faith that we can do it.

The Beginning Of Something New
Our next adventure is set to begin!
For the last 11 months hubby has been applying for residential jobs in the Pilbara region of WA. In May last year we were told they by July we would be up north, hubby in a residential job, me with the two kids.
So that was exciting, for like 5 seconds.
Come December we were still in a Perth. After Christmas hubby got grumpy and started applying for residential jobs with other companies, as his was giving him too much of a run around.
In between all this there was an employee in Tom Price that quit his job. Yippee! That's ours. Hubby applied for the job and after being given the run around since January-waiting for interviews, waiting for the job to be advertised, waiting for the old employee to move out, waiting, waiting, waiting!
Finally on Monday this week the company asked Phil if he would go away for a job up north, then they said to him "you may as well just stay there after that, but we want you to leave tomorrow"
He told them to get stuffed. He needed more than a day to get sorted to move 1400kms away.
Then on Tuesday (after all the supervisors had a go at the boss begging for Phil to be sent up as he was needed and they needed to fill his Perth job) he got "interviewed" the job was his all along but legally he had to be interviewed. We finally have a start date and can make some arrangements.
The first of these arrangements was the extremely difficult decision to send Phil up alone for the first three months. Being pregnant I need to be near a hospital (especially with my history with having Mr 3 before we got to the hospital). In Tom Price-the town we are going to- doesn't have these facilities and in a fact you have to be out of the town 6 weeks before your due date, I decided to stay behind.
I only have 14 weeks to go, which means when Phil leaves in 2 weeks I would have only be allowed in town for a maximum of 6 weeks (if the drs decide not to induce me) before I would need to be back in Perth again.
We decided packing the kids up and putting them into a new school for only 6 weeks before pulling them out and not attending any school for roughly 2 months was not fair. It would be too unsettling and frankly I couldn't put up with the two of them away from school for 2 months!!
The lease in our Perth house expires April 18 and our delightful owner won't let us renew for only a couple of months (she wants either 12 months or 2 years) so we were thinking of being homeless- until in steps my lovely mummy! The kids and I will move in with mum until baby is born, after which we can join hubby in Tom Price.
Phil has been offered by the company to do the new job as a 4 weeks away 1 week in Perth roster until me and the kids can join him, which is way better than the 3 months apart I thought we were going to have to do!! He will be on holidays when bubs is born and then altogether (kind of) we will make our way to Tom Price to start our new adventure. Hubby will be driving our car up with the dog while I take the much easier option of taking the three kids on a plane-by myself. Yes we are a slightly crazy family.
The company supplies the house and pays all our bills (electricity, gas, water etc) so it will be a chance for us to save big and set ourselves up. Our end goal is to live in WA's south west, but a there is no money there we need to get ourselves set up-house, cars, furniture, debt free etc.
I also found out today that the house we are moving to has a pool so I'm ridiculously excited. One not so exciting part about the house is that it's only three bedrooms-if you can count that means that Miss5 and Mr3 will be sharing a room, for the first time ever. And that, well that makes me nervous! They are both such chatter boxes I hope they adjust and actually get some sleep!!
Our new adventure is super exciting, I can't wait until we all get up there and experience a whole new way of living. The Pilbara is somewhere I've never spent much time exploring, I've travelled the south of the state but not so much the north, so I'm looking forward to the camping trips and road trips to the coast.
I also can't wait to get out of the city again. Since moving back 3.5 years ago all I've wanted to leave is leave this crazy Perth place we live. And now we finally are.
11months in the making and finally we have the job-fingers crossed its a good adventure and a positive experience for all :-)

The Day I Wished For The Ground To Swallow Me Whole...
Have you ever been so embarrassed by your child's behaviour in public that you almost want to disown them? Or at least lock them in their bedroom for the rest of the day?
Yep! Well that was me yesterday.
Miss 5 is a bed wetter, always has been. No matter what I've tried, nothing seems to motivate her to be dry. During her day time sleeps she's always been dry, so I know she CAN be dry, she just isn't at night time.
Finally after being on a waiting list for 4 months we went to our local community hospital to join the program for the special mat/alarm system thing that seems to work for most kids.
Miss 5 had the morning off school (she asked to go to school after her appointment). So off we went.
I must say I was pretty excited. Having a bed wetter kinda sucks, it's a lot of washing and pull-ups cost a bloody fortune!
When we got into our appointment Nurse Mary told us that most of her communication would be with Kaitlyn, she's the one with the 'problem,' she's the one that needs to take responsibility and be in charge of what was to come.
I was cool with that. It should be her job, she's the one that needs to know what's going on.
BUT...and this is where it gets embarrassing. Miss Kaitlyn decided she wasn't going to play ball. She doesn't want to hear about bed-wetting as a problem and has never let me speak to her about it with her.
So of course this was no different. Nurse Mary started by asking the basic questions "what's your name" it took 8 times before Miss 5 answered.
Then when we got on to the bed-wetting topic, she decided 'nope, you can all get stuffed' and refused to speak.
She wouldn't answer any questions. So Nurse Mary asked me to ask her the questions and try and make her answer, so I tried and all they accomplished was Miss 5 shoved her head in her hands and ignored us. I asked her to lift her head off the table and speak to us and I noticed while her head was on her arms she had been biting herself!! Seriously kid, what are you doing?
We tried for a good 30 minutes with different questions, showing her pamphlets etc etc and still nothing. So Nurse Mary said we can't do the program. If Miss 5 refuses to listen and respond we can't do it now.
I was so angry at her, she's the chattiest kid ever most of the time but whenever it comes to something like this she refuses to listen and apparently she now becomes a mute a well!
I asked Nurse Mary what we do now, I really don't want a bed-wetter anymore!
She told me for the next two weeks to make a few changes: start with those super expensive waterproof sheet things on the bed (goodbye $100), no more pull-ups EVER AGAIN, if she wakes in the night and wets herself she has to change the bed herself and put the old sheets in the laundry, if she doesn't put the sheets in the laundry then I have to leave it and wait until she remembers (so she lives in the stink and can realise how gross it is), every night for the next 3 nights she needs to walk from her bedroom to her toilet 6 times straight before bed (to get her brain in the habit of where she needs to go), and when she gets up/wets the bed mummy and daddy have to stay in bed-she does everything her self! She also needs to be responsible to write her own diary of what date it is, if she s wet/dry and how it made her feel (feeling wet is supposed to gross her out)
While Nurse Mary was kindly explaining all this she was directing most of her speech at Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn refused to make eye contact and more than once yawned in the lady's face!! I was so embarrassed I nearly decked her!! I could not believe that not only was my daughter refusing to speak but now she refused to make eye contact and was actually yawning in someone's face! I wanted to ground to open up and swallow me whole. This wasn't my daughter! This wasn't the little girl I
raised! And those definitely were not the manners I had taught her!!!
So for two weeks that's what we are going to do. And hopefully she might start to talk to me a bit more and then maybe next time we go back we can go onto the proper alarm program.
Last night we tried all of the above, Miss 5 seems to think its all a big game though, she thinks the new sheets are great, she asked how many I would buy her because she likes them and wants to use them all the time. She also thinks changing her bed by herself is fantastic, she can't wait to get up and change her blankets every 5 seconds. She laughed at all of it and jumped happily into bed.
I was literally expecting all kinds of crap to happen last night. I thought she would be up and down playing stupid games and changing her bed all night.
For once I actually slept really well last night so I didn't hear anything, but this morning, there was one giant wet sheet and she had remade her bed. Although I think she spent a long time going through her cupboard as all her sheets and blankets have suddenly been rearranged, Kaitlyn style! She happily skipped off to the laundry to deliver her sheet and asked me to wash it ready again for tonight.
I'm turning blue in the face trying to tell her the goal is to stay DRY not to use the sheet as many times as humanly possible in a 24 hour period.
Even though our next appointment is not for another 2 weeks I'm already crossing my fingers that my little Kaitlyn girl comes back, not that snotty, bitchy, rude, teenage-style version that I saw yesterday!
Over the years my kids have of of course done their fair share of embarrassing me in public, but usually it's because they are being silly, NOT because they are being so outwardly rude to someone else. We had a special chat last night about how disrespectful that behaviour is.
Hopefully we make progress over the next two weeks-keep your fingers crossed for us.
And for hothouse newbies to my blog check out my Facebook page. The Currie Way Of Life-I post photos and funny little stories throughout the day, it's also where I post my Thermomix cooking photos. Once I get more used to this blog I'll start posting some photos on here as well :-)

Date Night Disasters
My husband and I try to have 'regular' date nights. And by regular I mean at least 5 times a year.
So far this year our dates have been disasters, not so much romantic nights out.
Last year my sister in law gave us some gold class movie vouchers for helping her move house. At least once a month since July last year we have tried to use these vouchers. Every time the movie has been fully booked or there is absolutely nothing of interest on for us. But mostly we just couldn't get in to the sessions without pre booking 3 weeks prior, and as a family we never have three weeks notice for a date night! We were almost ready to give up on using the vouchers altogether.
Last weekend was our first wedding anniversary and we wanted to go to The Vines Resort and Country Club in the beautiful relaxing Swan Valley. We organised a baby sitter over night and I called the hotel. They were completely booked out, they didn't even have the dodgiest, cheapest room available!!! So there goes that romantic idea. So then we tried our good old gold class tickets. And by some miracle we actually got two seats....the last two seats in the whole cinema and they were the front row seats, I literally had to recline the chair the whole way back just to see the screen and by halfway through I had such bad motion sickness I had to close my eyes and just listen to the movie! Very romantic! I sat in the car afterwards curled up in a ball trying not to vomit. It took a good 30 minutes before I could get up again.
Last night we got to have a date night again. Twice in two weekends is totally unheard of. But we wanted to go to the drags and watch the nitro cars (my favourite) so we managed to rope my sister in law to babysit. By a stroke of bad luck her fence had fallen down the night before, so not only did she have my 5 and 3 year old she also had her 2 year old and both our dogs to babysit!! It was a busy night for her.
The drags was good fun, we saw the nitro cars go down once, the second time down they both blew up. We were looking forward to the third time they were to go down the track but by a stroke of bad luck (lucky us!!) the heavens opened up and it started pouring with rain! We missed out on all the final races and because we were sitting almost as far as possible from the gates we had to run (not an easy task with a giant pregnant belly) to get to the car.
But wait there's more! On the way home the roads were very wet, there was lots of lightning and lots of cars. One section of road had a small rise and at the bottom was a roundabout. We went over the rise and as we got to the top the cars in front of us all suddenly slammed on their brakes. 3 of us (two in front and our car) locked up, the car directly in front swerved, we swerved the same direction and went straight up his butt! A car accident? Seriously?? Yes! Thank god we were far enough away to slow down and stopped quick enough that the airbags didn't go off. No one as hurt, not even my bump. We pulled off to inspect the damage and pick up the piece of our front bumper that was now in the middle of the road. The guy we hit also pulled off on the opposite side of the road. By the time we had inspected our vehicles the guy we hit had driven off, without a word to us. So I guess he didn't care about us paying for his car (although we have a sneaky suspicion that the driver was either unlicensed or had been drinking). I was pretty shaky, as you can imagine being pregnant and having a car accident. Thankfully our car was still drivable and we made it home. Today we went out and looked at the car and the damage is slightly worse than first thought. We will need a new front bumper, bonnet and possibly a bit of work underneath the car. Hopefully our insurance company is nice and can fix it for us quickly.
But in the mean time it means driving our second car- a car we wish to sell as it's getting old and we don't want to replace the clutch. We thought we could sell it cheap (as we have priced up a clutch and will tell any buyers how much they will need to pay-therefore we will drop the selling price by that much)
However because this will need to be our main car until our family car is fixed we are now going to have to pay to fix the clutch, pay the insurance excess and then give the family car the new tyres and service it is already due for! Argh!!
What's that rule? Every time you have money in your savings account something is bound to go wrong?? Well that's definitely us! Every single time we save up for something, something bad happens and we have to fork out a fortune to fix it.
I jokingly said to my husband this morning that we should just give up on retrying to have a date night! They are turning into date disasters. But hey, at least we get a good story to tell at the end of it :-)

Hermy The Thermy's First Week
As of Thursday I have officially owned a Thermomix for a week.
I've already named him Hermy and I'm in love.
Admittedly it was a slow start to the week. Last weekend was our wedding anniversary so we spent all weekend at restaurants celebrating so Hermy didn't really get put to good use until this week.
So what have we done in our first week?
We have made scones-which were AMAZING I've always used a scone recipe with cream and lemonade. The Thermomix recipe I found had a whole pile of ingredients and I was worried they wouldn't be as light or fluffy as my lemonade ones. Boy was I wrong! And my favourite part was I didn't have to knead the dough! Hermy did it all for me. It took 7 seconds to mix and then 10 seconds of kneading in Hermy and the dough was ready. Another three minutes to roll out and place on a cookie tray reading for baking. I've never cooked so fast in my life!
Chicken and Leek pie- I'm not a big pie person usually but this recipe was amazing. When looking at buying a Thermomix I was worried how good the meat would taste. I'm normally a big fan of my slow cooker and love my meat beautiful and tender. Well Hermy delivers! Mr 3 was a huge fan of the mini pies and ate 2 for dinner and 2 for lunch the next day. Miss 5 was a little bit more cautious of trying new foods, but in the end she made it through an entire pie.
Pastry- we made the pasty for the chicken and leek pie. It was a joint effort with hubby. Something I would never normally make our first batch of pastry was amazing. I was worried I would stuff it up or it wouldn't look right, but it was flaky and tasty and cooked perfectly.
Stock paste- when Hermy was delivered the consultant had a list of hot hints she needed to show me and so we go made a stock. So simple, I already had all the ingredients in the house and it made two massive jars of stock paste. I'm not a fan of store brought stock-never have been-but this is lovely. Adding it to any recipe I find I'm not getting the massive burst of salt I usually get.
Strawberry Jam- this was today's effort. And wow! Again so quick and easy, chuck everything into Hermy press a few buttons and 60 minutes later out comes a beautiful fragrant strawberry jam. The kids haven't road tested this one just yet as it's still cooling down, but from what I tasted it was amazing.
Chicken Risotto- technically not made yet, this is on the menu for tonight. And I'm excited, I've never succeeded at cooking a risotto-although I did try once. Never having eaten risotto growing up I've never been around people cooking it either. But I love it and I have full faith that Hermy will deliver tonight :-)
Bit of a slow start to using my Thermomix but I want to start with the basics, get used to the machine and the way it cooks before I start going totally crazy with inventing my own recipes.
It's safe to say it's been a very happy first week and Hermy now takes pride of place on my kitchen bench.

The Long And The Short Of It
Most people reading this have a pretty good idea who we are.
Having already spent months writing a blog on another site, only for the website to completely shit itself I've decided to start all over again.
So for those of you that are new, and have no idea how far we've come in the 7 years we have been a family read on. If you already know me, then look away this will probably be boring for you!
Our story is a long story, so much has happened in the last 7 years. Here's the short version of it.
2007-is where we begin. Phil my hubby and I started going out. He was 21 I was a couple weeks away from being 17. As you can imagine mum wasn't too impressed with the age gap. And to be perfectly honest I was thinking "a summer type fling sounds good lets give this guy a go" I was out of school, recently quit my crappy job in a hair salon and was working at Big W until I started working admin for BGC a building company.
2008- February I got pregnant. Bugger! Not in the plan, mum was pissed, I was scared and Phil was pretty great. 6 weeks before my 18th birthday, meant I had a very sober, very quiet 18th. No biggy I'm not a huge party person anyway. I was first diagnosed with depression halfway through the year and was given drugs that sent me loopy, when the Dr wouldn't help me out I decided its time to do it myself, no one would help me get better so I needed to get better without them. November 24 2008 our little pink bundle was born. For the 6 months following I worked on getting better and I managed to beat my depression. We had a beautiful pink bundle that we loved! About 6 weeks after she was born the neighbourhood we lived got scary, I was abused out the front of our house and we decided to leave. We moved to another little house in the city and enjoyed a nice quiet 6 months there getting to know our little pinky.
2009- Miss Kaitlyn was 10 weeks old when she was rushed to hospital for salmonella. It was our first scary experience as parents and we were terrified, she was so sick. How does a 10 week old get salmonella? Well we had been to the Byford Rodeo the night before where Miss 5 was in a pram, tucked in asleep with a blanket covering the pram. However a small piece of dust must have made its way in and voila! A very sick 10 week old baby with salmonella Newport- a type you only get from cattle. The Drs told us it was very rare for this to happen, it was just unlucky that it happened to us. The salmonella lasted almost 6 months, something we were unaware of for most of this time, we had a very lethargic, little baby not gaining weight. It wasn't until we got her tested again that we discovered it was still salmonella. By July it was FINALLY gone. We had our happy baby girl back, however due to not gaining enough weight she was now solely formula fed. 8 months wasn't too bad to breast feed, but I was aiming for 12 months.
By the end of 2009 I was pregnant with number 2. We decided to start trying late in the year thinking it would take awhile for another little Currie to come along, however that night I was pregnant. Miss 5 turned 1 as I was 12 weeks pregnant! We also moved to the little country town of Corrigin in2009 one of the best things we ever did.
2010- Mr 3 was born 28 May 2010. We were still living in the country, 2 hours from the city. I was in Perth with my mum while hubby was at home, waiting for the phone call. 10:15pm May 27 I went into labour, 10:45 hubby left home. By 12:35am May 28 in the back of an ambulance on the way to the hospital, which was only a 10 min drive from mums house, out came a big chubby Mr 3. Hubby missed the birth, even though it was only a short 2 hour drive to the hospital, Mr 3 was in a rush. Labour with Bradley was 2 hours labour with Kaitlyn was 24 hours. Big difference!! Once we arrived at the hospital midwives noticed he was blue and his cord had snapped, covering me in blood. It was later discovered that he had a heart condition. Transposition of the great arteries it was called and it meant a trip across the country to Melbourne for the surgery that would save his life. Miss 5 stayed behind with her grandma and we went with our baby boy for the ups and downs of his surgery. As you can imagine it was a scary and stressful time for us, but as always we battled on together and our boy was perfect! By 3 months of age Bradley had such bad reflux he was put onto a special formula to stop the pain. He had the real kind of reflux, not just the vomiting but the intense burning pain when he was feeding, he used to scream, kick, scratch me and go all out crazy when feeding. We decided to give this special formula a go and voila! Happy well fed baby.Hubby also had his appendix removed this year after a long battle with stomach pains that were brushed off in most emergency rooms. Although the surgeons absolutely butchered him he had deep bruising across almost his entire abdomen that lasted 7 weeks post op. 2 out of his 3 cuts also got infected and made him pretty uncomfortable. By the end of this year hubby had taken a FIFO job and we had moved back to the city, neither of us wanted this, but funds were low and pressure from family was mounting to try this FIFO craze.
2011- Mr 3 got sick just before his 1st birthday, we thought it was just a cold but it was the beginning of a 6 month battle with flu's and chest infections so severe he was bedridden for almost the entire winter months. We had weekly Drs appointments, we never left the house, in fact the pram was brought inside so he could sit and be pushed to calm him down. The rest of the family had the usual amounts of colds and flu's but poor Mr 3 could not get rid of his.
June of that year my hubby proposed. Finally. But with the illness and stress of looking after Mr 3 we put off the wedding planning until the next year. The FIFO lifestyle was crappy, it wasn't suiting us, hubby was away so often the kids had no bond with him and they sure as hell didn't respect him when he tried to discipline them. I was again diagnosed with depression this year and thankfully I had a decent Dr who didn't drug me but helped me. I saw a councillor and 4 months later I was me again! A much nicer experience this time ( if you can ever look at depression in a positive way) it didn't take me as long to get out of the black hole. It was entirely stress related with Mr 3 being sick for 6 months, hubby away all the time and and it was about this time Miss 5 started showing signs of anxiety. By October when the weather started to warm up Mr 3 FINALLY started to beat his severe chest infections and we started to see some improvement. He was sick from beginning of May until the end of October. By this stage we had tried everything to help him get better, it just took a lot of rest, medications, love and patience and he finally was back to being a happy toddler. November hubby quit the crappy FIFO job and was back in Perth working and home to his family every night. The change in the kids was instant they loved their daddy again, bonding was much easier as they actually saw him and we didn't care about the pay cut. A 30grand pay cut was nothing compared to having our family back again.
2012- wedding planning started! I had a blast planning our wedding, Miss 5 loved wedding shopping and all was going great. A friend of mine got married in September so we were able to do some planning together which as fun. Hubby started another new job in Perth which meant he goes away sometimes (but very rarely for more than a couple days) but most of the year he's still home with us. I finally got my tonsils out after 17 years of suffering severely with tonsillitis. It was a pretty happy moment for me. I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in my hips which wasn't nice and I was put onto steroids, which made me gain weight like crazy. Thankfully by the end of the year I was allowed to start coming off the steroids and I lost all the weight in time for our wedding.
2013- March 16 we got married finally after 6 yrs together and 2 kids. It was perfect. The kids were perfect on the day, we couldn't have asked for more. And thanks to my crazy budgeting skills we didn't go into any debt for our wedding which was a great feeling, when it was all over and done with we didn't owe everyone money :-). May- hubby applied for a residential job in Tom Price in the Pilbara region of WA. We were told by July we should be up there, so that was exciting, for awhile. By December we were still in Perth and were getting pissed off. We are not city people, we didn't want to be here. We were trying to do the right thing by the company and we waited. By then end of this year I had given in to hubby's nagging and I was up the duff! I was always happy with two kids, hubby argued two kids was boring. I guess we are about to find out!
2014- it's only March and so far Mr 3 has had one surgery. He had a testicle stuck up in his tummy that clearly wasn't supposed to be there, so in he went for surgery last week. He seems to have recovered amazingly, except for a reaction to one of the drugs which made him hallucinate like crazy for awhile. It was a very scary couple of hours watching him thrashing around, screaming, trying to pull his nose off because apparently it was itchy and he had boogies (which he didn't) thankfully everything else went very smoothly. Miss 5 has had a nasty chest infection, I've had an upper respiratory infection and hubby has been fine! This pregnancy is progressing, my symptoms and discomfort has been massive this time around. Constipation, restless legs, heartburn, hair loss, bad skin, pelvic girdle pain, back pain, morning sickness lasting well past 12 weeks and as all day sickness, metallic taste in my mouth are just a few of the symptoms I've been experiencing. I also recently found out because my arthritis is flaring up again and I'm on the steroids again, my chance of getting gestational diabetes is very high, I could also be having yet another giant baby and I will probably be induced. I've been referred for extra scans and to see a specialist obstetrician to look after me and decide how this baby is going to come out. 3 more weeks until I find out about the gestational diabetes and I'm hoping for the best. We are still waiting to hear about the Tom Price job, which looks like it might be on the cards again. Patience is running out fast now though and if it doesn't work out this time, hubby will quit the stupid company and find something else.
Throughout the years from 2011-2014 Miss 5 has suffered from her anxiety issues, we have seen countless "professionals" over the years ranging from the horrible (she basically told me I was a bad mum, based solely on the fact I was a teen mum) to the great (finally progress!!) Miss 5 lives with her issues every day but she battles through it and with lots of patience (that mummy and daddy are still learning) love and support she is doing well, most people can't even tell. Although those that know her best can definitely see her issues.
This is the very short version of our story. There are a lot more ups and downs to our life (including me having a severe reaction to my first arthritis medications, Zac being allergic to dog food, crashing through a window, having surgery for a benign lump near his rear legs, I had a skin cancer scare a few weeks back-thankfully all was well, both kids had their first concussion by 1 yr of age, Mr 3 had an appendicitis scare, he also had a meningococcal scare, Miss5's battle with toilet training which includes many many urinary tract infections and still not being night time toilet trained, the list seems to be never ending!) but we are forever thankful for what we have, therefore we give back whenever we can!
Having already spent months writing a blog on another site, only for the website to completely shit itself I've decided to start all over again.

A very Currie Bio
We are the Currie family. We live in Western Australia and this is us;
Me: I'm Emma, I'm 23 years old and mother of two. Kaitlyn my daughter is 5 going on 15 and Bradley is 3. I got married last year (after 6 years together) to my best buddy and partner in crime.
I enjoy the simple things in life, being with family, making a mess, cooking with my brand new Thermomix and every now and then I dust off the old SLR camera and get snap happy. Currently pregnant with number 3 I'm moody, grumpy, uncomfortable and HUGE!
Hubby: Phil is 4 and a half years older than me and at least 10 years more immature. He's a heavy duty diesel mechanic. He likes working but considers it as "taking a rest" from the madness of running a house. He's the worst handyman you will ever meet, but makes up for it by being a half decent cook. He will be anybody's best friend (especially with a few beers under his belt) and loves spending the weekends doing family things (anything to avoid the housework!)! Just don't mention his grey hairs and you will have a friend for life!
Miss 5: Kaitlyn is our oldest and most stubborn child. She's 5 going on 15 and has the teenage attitude well and truly sorted out. She suffers from anxiety and mild OCD but she's the sweetest little girl. Kaitlyn is currently in pre primary and enjoying playing with the iPads in lessons. She tap dances on a Monday arvo and loves 'helping' around the house. She's also been known to sneak out of her bed at night time to listen in to our adult conversations. When she grows up she wants to do dishes and have two kids and a baby.
Mr 3: Bradley is the baby of the family....for now. He's baby faced and knows how to use it to his advantage. This kid makes me laugh more than anyone else. He loves animals, cars, playing outside and riding his bike. Currently in 4 yr old kindy he is having fun and learning loads! Although the nightly homework is killing me! When he grows up he wants to be a cowboy, riding horses, not bulls because "bulls are a bit crazy". He's overcome being born in an ambulance, open heart surgery at birth and a testical stuck in his stomach. He's our little fighter and my little hero.
Zac: is our ever faithful old Labrador doggy. He's now 8 and a half years old and is the craziest dog you will ever meet. He also suffers from anxiety and it's not unusual to see him reversing the entire length of the hallway after having a case of the ooglie booglies. He hates mice, heights, car rides and being sent outside for bad behaviour. He's never played fetch, walked nicely on a lead, dug holes or any other typical doggy traits. He's overcome an allergy to ALL dog foods, running through a glass window and having his tail slammed in the car door.
And that is our family for now. Come July there will be a new addition to add to the madness of our everyday lives.
